Can I Build a Church or Synagogue in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia does not Allow Christians/Jews to Practice their Faith Openly!
The notion of reciprocity as a tenet of tolerance and acceptance has been consistently violated by Saudi Arabia. No one country presents the greatest contradictions within a hypocritical tenet of Salafist Islam than Saudi Arabia.
Muslims all over the world are demanding equal rights to practice their own religion as part of any civil society. However, when I went to Saudi Arabia decades ago, I could not find a Church, Synagogue, or Temple. I knew from the very beginning of my venture that there be no Churches, Synagogues, or Temples [Hindu/Buddhist]. Saudi Arabia is the epitome of intolerance and hypocrisy.
When it demands reciprocity of faith, they forget that no so-called, “infidel” is allowed to make a ‘haj’ in Mecca or Medina. Yet if Saudi citizen demands to have a Mosque in Century City, Los Angeles, the Saudis are all over the place [with money/petitions] like white on rice.
Ironically, Jews are forbidden to pray in Saudi Arabia [let alone go in with an Israeli passport] yet Jews were in Saudi Arabia long before the Muslims.
Scary but true!
By the 2nd Century AD, there were a considerable number of Jews in Hejaz. Dhu Nuwas was a very aggressive leader who converted his subjects to Judaism, the precursor of Christianity and Islam. There were three major tribes in Medina way before the rise of Islam. They were the Banu Nadir, Banu Quainuqa, and Banu Qurayza.
Mohammed’s forced conversion by the sword pre-empted the rise of either Judaism or Christianity. Now hear the false statements of Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who said the following:
“There are lots of Christian Churches and Synagogues in Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Jordan, Indonesia, Qatar, and Kuwait…”
I have travelled extensively through Shi’ite Iran, and the only Jews who were allowed to pray in the open were a group of men on Friday morning in Isfahan. They sang an Iranian song which concealed the Hebrew Prayers for our own divinity…. “Aveenoo Malkanu” [Our Father, Our Lord].
The main Christian Churches in Iran are the following [Wikipedia]:
- Armenian Apostolic Church of Iran [ancient,110,000 members].
- Assyrian Church of East Iran [ ancient, 11000 members].
- Chaldean Catholic Church of Iran [ ancient, 4000 members].
- Roman Catholic Church of Iran [ 22,000 members].
There are no recent Protestant, Episcopalian, Baptist, Evangelical Churches anywhere in Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, or any other Muslim country. My extended family who have lived in Turkey for over four hundred years can testify that under President Erdogan the number of Jews went from 20,000 to fewer than 10,000 in only a few short years. The rest of them moved into Israel.
Jordan has had an extensive history of Christianity going back to the 1st Century AD. The majority of Christian in Jordan are Greek Orthodox; estimated to be around 300,000. Fortunately, because of them the Hashemite Kingdom tolerates a high degree of freedom in regards to Christians. As of 2006, there were no Jews in Jordan.
In the wealthy state of Qatar [4,254 square miles], Sunni Muslims are 90 per cent of the population and 10 per cent are Shi’a Muslims. Most non-citizens are Hindus, Buddhists, Bahai, and Christians [about 100,000]. Once again, no other religion other than Islam is allowed to proselytize in Qatar. Like most Muslim countries, Qatar considers it a major sin if a Muslim converts to another religion. It is called, “APOSTASY”!
Whenever a Muslim demands equal rights in America or in the EU, please ask him/her what other religions are allowed in his/her respective country.
Like Queen Latifah says in the brilliant musical, “Chicago”, Reciprocity is about the following:
“The systems works it’s called reciprocity…
When you’re good to Mama, Mama is good to you..
You do one favor for Mama, She will do one for you.”
Followers of Islam: if you are good to Judaism, Christianity, Hindu, Buddhists, Bahai’s, Atheists and Agnostics…. Then we, Americans, will be good to you! Otherwise, please don’t ask for something you would never grant us in your country.
Remember Reciprocity!!! Otherwise, we call it HYPOCRISY!!!!
